we went to walmart last night, something we do on the average of 6 times a week. We got out of the giant maroon 4x4 chevy that haunts the town at odd hours of the day and night with its loud engine rawr, and the faded outline of a old sticker that read American Heartbreaker across it and the one that tryed to cover it that read USMC on it and another that has I served in Iraq in big black letters on a white circle that I ordered for my fiance’ last year that he only put on the truck because he backed into something and dinged his bumper. We did our shopping and proceeded to climb back into the truck. When my fiance stopped and stared at the windshield, he got out of the truck lifted his windshield wiper and untucked the piece of notebook paper. he sat back in the truck and turned on his dome light on the paper it read:
“thank you for serving our country and protecting us, my family and I greatly appriciate all you have done for our country. once again thank you…”
And signed down at the bottom of the note was a simple “hoorah” no name no nothing just a simple “hoorah”.
I am thankful for whoever wrote this note. And people like this, it brightened my fiances day and reminded me that he’s not just my fiance he’s a veteran. Thank you for whoever had the courage to write this note and to brighten my fiance’s day.
